The permanent exhibition of the Museum of Moscow tells about the life and everyday life of Muscovites of different eras, about the architecture, culture and development of the city.
The exhibition for the first time presents the history of the city from the time of the first Dyakovo settlements on the banks of the Moscow River (1st millennium BC) to the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

The exhibition’s main theme is the everyday life of Muscovites of different social groups in different eras.

Visitors will be able to learn in detail about the life of the first Slavs who settled the Moscow region, about medieval artisans whose names have become fixed in many city toponyms, about the secular and domestic life of the Moscow nobility, merchant charity, bourgeois and peasant life in the 19th century and the new communal life of the 1920s.
