Architecture studio of Artemy LebedevThe school building has a quite restrained exterior, which is complemented by bright accents in the form of colored window frames.
In the school’s inner courtyard, the space is divided into four parts according to the seasons, creating a playful motif woven into the building’s fabric
To maintain and enhance this story during nighttime, the lighting concept is designed to support it.
This includes the ambient lighting of decorative wall cladding, which serves as a navigational element in the space, as well as the stained glass windows, where the light temperature depends on the color palette of the window. For warm tones, the temperature is 3000K, while for cooler tones it is 4000K.
The goal for the courtyard is to create a cozy, intimate atmosphere where students can gather and spend their free time. Low-level lighting is used to achieve this, with a minimum acceptable level of illumination. To differentiate spaces according to their purpose, a color temperature of 2700K is used for social and relaxation areas, while a temperature of 3000K is used for transit zones (walkways).
The building’s facade is illuminated with a white color wash. For scenario 1, when all drawings are visible and colors are not distorted, the building’s facade is illuminated with colored light.
For scenario 2, where some drawings are highlighted while others are not, the color of the facade lighting depends on the season depicted in the drawings. The building’s facade is illuminated with colored light.
For scenario 3, where some drawings are highlighted while others are not, a smooth transition between colors or to white can occur. This can serve as festive lighting.
