The school’s public spaces (internal yards and the ‘Summer’ zone) have mixed functions, serving as both relaxation and socialization areas, as well as transit zones. Thus, lighting design for these areas aim to separate these two functions and simplify navigation within the space.
The main goal for schoolyard spaces is to create a cozy, intimate atmosphere where students can hang out and spend their free time after school.
To achieve this, low-level lighting with minimal illumination is used.
To differentiate the spaces for socializing and relaxing, a color temperature of 2700K is employed, while for transit areas (walkways), a temperature of 3000K is utilized.
The “Summer” zone features a complex, multi-layered lighting setup, with high-intensity lighting at 4000K for the sports field and a more balanced 3000K for the entire area.
The multi-layered lighting composition is achieved by incorporating low-level lighting and additional color at 3000K for transit areas and 2700K for social and leisure zones.
