The Planetarium is the heart
of Tsoy’s biopic.
There are a shining “star called the Sun” – a huge burning red ball that cuts the space with the light; the planets, each of them personifies a loved one or an important object of Tsoi.
Moving from planet to planet, we get to know the hero the way his family and friends remember him.
What kind of lighting will express the idea the best way and convey the extraterrestrial atmosphere? Shoul it be layered metaphorical light that adds depth to the space?
This hall invites us
to a journey through
the personal space of
Viktor Tsoi.
We decided to recreate a complex and multi-layered cosmic light in this room. The sun rays merged with the illumination of the planets and the star atlas.
Additional backlighting gave the depth to the space and helped each element stand out against the starry sky. The sunlight and the presence of blue and purple planets predetermined the use of light sources with neutral temperature.
That’s how we were physically closer
to the natural color of sunlight.
We made the starry sky warmer than the main elements,
and we developed custom wall lamps for the yellow stars
dedicated to Tsoi’s friends and acquaintances.
